About the connotations behind typography.
You look at a typeface and make assumptions, for example the top typeface, Rosewood Std, may be associated with the circus or a wild west salon. By using the same 2 words, coming soon, I wanted to see what people may think is coming soon. I flocked them all to keep them in the same medium, so purely focusing on type. The original reason for this was, one day i was watching itv 3/2 (i think?) and I can't stand their advertising for upcoming programmes. I was wondering through the right use of typography could you suggest to the audience what might be a programme coming soon to itv, purely through this medium. Simple and effective! I gave people a questionnaire to answer as to what each typeface makes them believe will be coming soon. Am busy tidying this into a catalogue.
